Year 2003, The Zeronaut rose out of the still-warm ashes of the band Scythe. It was the moment to turn the page and take a new direction, a more dynamic and straight-forward sound. The music became more rich and complex and the need of shaping it on an album was clearly evident.

At that time, Ruymán Santana [guitar and vocals], Víctor Nassar [bass and lead vocals] and Fran González [guitar] conformed the line-up but soon Kuly Rivero, with his unique drumming style, became the new member and the band started a two years trip that gave as result Portraits of nothing, their first studio work.

Through these two years the band blast a handful of shows sharing stage with acts such as Napalm Death, Destruction, Avulsed, Wormed, Incantation, Evergrey, Kreator, Lacrimas Profundere, Rage...


What can you expect from Portraits of nothing? Ten cuts of pure aggression in the vein of the swedish death school but with a mark of unique sound. A well-mixed formula; part brutal, part melodic, sometimes a progressive act but always 100% metal.

Now it’s time to spread Portraits of nothing as far as possible in the search of a record deal and new concerts. But be prepared, a new work is slowly taking form. This four-mind machinery never stops!
